Dr. David Malcolm Strange, DDS of Kool Smiles and Kool Kids Dental

Dr. David Strange who is listed as Chief Dental Officer at Kool Smiles is Dr. David M. (Malcolm) Strange, Jr.
His father goes by the name, Malcolm Strange.

I’m pretty sure this is the same Dr. David M. Strange, Jr. that is referred to working at Pediatric Dental Group of ColoradoPDC has 7 locations in Colorado.

Here is the bio of the Dr. David Strange at Kool Smiles:

Dr. David Strange
Dr. David Strange has lived in Colorado since 1977. He attended grade school and high school on the “west” side of town and graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder. The foothills of Golden and the flatirons of Boulder are truly home to him. When he isn’t in the offices playing with the children, a privilege he tries to convince the rest of us is actually work, you can find him on the slopes of Copper Mountain or at a crowded Folsom stadium watching his beloved Colorado Buffaloes.
Dr. Strange and his wife, Erin, live in Golden with their three children, Clara, Marshall and Sullivan. Clara loves to dance and ski; Marshall loves cars and hockey; and Sullivan loves to do everything his big brother and big sister do. The family is active in the children’s schools, extracurricular activities and church.  They also love to travel as much as having three small children will allow.
Dr. Strange graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1994 with a BS degree in biology and the University of Colorado School of Dentistry in 1998 with the DDS degree. He then completed the Pediatric Dental Residency Program at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas where he earned the degree of Master of Science in 2000. His master’s thesis was on the subject of “Primary Tooth Pulp Therapy.”
Dr. Strange has very fond memories of going to work with his father, who was a strong influence in his life. Following in his father’s footsteps to become a pediatric dentist was a natural decision for him. It was a decision on which he has never looked back. Dr. Strange joined the Pediatric Dental Group of Colorado in 2000 after completing his pediatric dental specialty training. He practices in the Lafayette and Wheat Ridge offices but is known to schedule himself in the Frisco office on Friday to conveniently turn that trip into a ski weekend.

Both David and his father Malcolm have letters of Admonishment from the Colorado Dental Board for tying up children to preform dental care without consent and not supervising dental assistant in tying the child down.  Click to read.

In doing a google search of Dr. David M. Strange, he too must have a lot of frequent flier miles since he sees patients in MA, SC, GA and pretty much all other states where there is a NCDR, LLC’s / DPMS, Inc. Kool Smiles.

I wonder how he finds time to keep up with all the requirements to keep his licenses up to date in so many states, practice dentistry in Colorado, raise 3 kids, take care of his wife and home, and find time to ski…

According to the minutes of the Dental Board's meeting in July 2009, Dr. David Strange's application to be a consultant was ratified.  I bet he turned tail from Georgia and headed back to Colorado, but needs this consultant status.

By the way, Kool Kids Dental is also Kool Smiles.

I wonder how Dr. Tu Tran and Dr. Thien Pham got him to go along with this great dental caper.
