Ameriplan Insurance Accepted at Small Smiles Montgomery

I don't know anything about "Ameriplan" insurance and don't pretend to. What I do know is that Small Smiles Of Montgomery (Alabama) is now accepting their "insurance"?

So what does this mean? I dunno but will be looking into it. Of course birds of a feather, flock together, right?

From what I've read, Ameriplan is not exactly insurance, but you get a list of providers that may give you a discount on treatments, I'm not sure.

So is FORBA Small Smiles looking into other avenues of revenues? It's looking like it.

Anyway Ameriplan sounds a bit like Amway.

You are right...Ameriplan is NOT an insurance...it is a discount program. If you go to the providers on their list that they are contracted with you get a 20% discount. However....Small Smiles charges different rates for different people. If you are medicaid and medicaid won't pay for something then the office manager tells you what the cost is. Depending on what mood she is in depends on what price list she will use. They have a price list for regular insurance and one for medicaid which is alot less so different people get charged different for the same procedure. If she is in a good mood she will charge you the medicaid prices.

Part 2

Now if she is in a bad mood or FORBA has been griping about not making enough money she will charge you the higher prices no matter what insurance you have. In other words...I have seen people that have Delta Dental get charge for work at medicaid prices. I have also seen medicaid patients get charged the higher insurance prices even though they had medicaid and it wasn't covered for whatever reason. I have also seen people with no insurance get charged both the higher or lower fees....just depends on the mood at that moment.
